Avengers Predictions (What I want to happen)

I’m very sceptical that I’m going to like this movie. I think there will be bits that I’ll want to watch again and again but I have a feeling most of it will be skippable.
And I have a feeling one of those skippable parts will be Thanos. Apparently he has the most screen time in this movie. Do I care? No.
Thanos doesn’t interest me even a little bit. It looks like this is going to be another MCU villain that’s forgettable.
His motivation seems to be to wipe out half the universe and that’s it. They’re not mentioning anything about him being in love with death which might have been the better way to go. People do stupid things for love so it’s easier to relate. The best villains are the ones that we can understand where they’re coming from and I think you need to have something to relate to when your villain is an overpowered purple alien.
The other problem is something they seem to be very proud of. They keep showing us how many characters they have in this movie and while it’s not necessarily a bad thing it can go wrong quite easily.
They pulled it off in the Avengers movies so far because they kept it focused on the Avengers, the characters that we knew from other movies. The villains were there but they didn’t have the most screen time.
There’s also the fact that quite a few of the characters I can’t stand. Either because they’ve been terribly written (Black Widow, Wanda, Hawkeye) or I’ve never been able to stand (Captain America). I have a feeling I’m going to be face palming through their scenes.
What might be the biggest problem though is Civil War. That movie did a whole lot of damage to the characters and made it so I can’t continue to ignore problems with the MCU.

What I want to happen

I want Captain America to die. Or retire, I’m not fussy as long as I don’t have to put up with him.
Chris Evans isn’t doing anymore MCU movies anyway. He’ll probably show up in little cameos here and there but no more Captain America movies with Steve Rogers. Yay!
Bucky or Falcon can take over being Cap. I don’t care. Neither have much personality in the MCU. The actors are more interesting. Anthony Mackie was the only reason I liked Falcon before they made him an idiot in Civil War.
I want Vision to dump Wanda because apparently they are officially together and I think they’re using that relationship to make it worse when Thanos rips the infinity stone out of Vision’s head. Because we can’t care about a character unless they’re in a (toxic) relationship.
They have no chemistry and more importantly she’s a mass murderer who only became good when she realised she was going to die too. Not to mention she attacked Vision for no reason. That’s not a healthy relationship.
Vision will be more interesting without her.
I want Hulk to do to Wanda what he did to Loki. Maybe he could say puny witch as he walks away dismissively. Because she is responsible for all those deaths in Johannesburg when she got into the his mind and pointed him at the city.
I also want Bruce to say something to her as well because he was really angry at her in Age of Ultron in that one conversation they had. I really don’t understand why she was allowed to join the Avengers after she volunteered for Hydra and destroyed a city full of people. She should be in jail.
I want there to be some sort of plot twist that reveals Black Widow has been doing super secret spy stuff that makes her act weird in every movie but she’s better now. She should also apologise to Bruce but I know that won’t happen because I don’t think the adults in these movies admit when they’re wrong. I’m going to have to go back and watch all the movies.
I don’t want Gamora to die. She has to live to have more sisterly conflict and bonding with Nebula. She only got interesting in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and they’ve screwed up most of the other female characters.
The reason I think she’s going to die is because I’ve seen lots of people discuss her as one of the options for who’s going to die. She’s Thanos’s favourite daughter, there’s that scene in the trailer where she’s holding his hand as a child and it’s the sort of thing that happens to female characters to motivate the men.
I want Tony to be happy. This means he has to live and none of his friends die. That doesn’t include Team Cap, who never acted like his friends anyway, so they can go die. I’m very bitter about Civil War.
I don’t want him to forgive all the backstabbers and in a perfect world they’ll actually apologise for the shitty things they did. But he’s not angry at Bucky anymore because now that he’s had time he knows it’s not his fault.

Do I think any of this will happen?

No.
Cap will probably die because of the reasons above but I have a horrible feeling Gamora is going to die and we’ll get lots of romance scenes between Vision and Wanda.

I think part two will be called Disassembled because it’s the opposite of Assemble and there was that Bendis run in the comics. I’ve also heard it could also be called Shattered Heroes which is definitely possible but I like Disassembled better.

I’m trying to not get excited about this movie. Despite the trailer where Gamora snaps her fingers that gets me feeling things every time.
Ultimately no matter what shit they pull Fandom will eventually fix it.
